Central Community College

Central Community College is a multi-campus community college serving a 25-county area in central Nebraska — approximately 14,000 square miles with a population of more than 300,000.

CCC offers 37 career and technical education programs with a focus on degree, diploma and certificate programs requiring two years or less to complete. The college also offers an academic transfer program for students who want to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree before transferring to a four-year college or university.

In addition, the college offers classes in communities throughout its 25-county service area, online learning, and training and development for businesses, industries and other organizations.

The central administration is located in Grand Island. Three main campuses are located in Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings. Educational centers are located in Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington. Additionally, CCC uses a variety of distance learning techniques to provide educational services in some 90 communities in its service area.

This position will assist in the provision of comprehensive counseling services. Will provide crisis and on-going counseling services, in addition to prevention and outreach programs to students for various CCC campuses and center locations. Successful candidate will be located on the Grand Island Campus, but will provide services to other locations as needed. Some evening hours may be required. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. This position is grant funded through 9/2023. Responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of comprehensive counseling services and prevention education programs designed to increase student retention and success. Will serve as the College’s Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner ( LIMHP ) for on-call crisis counseling and assessment of student needs in crisis situations, and will provide consultation to college personnel as needed. Will develop and implement prevention education programs related to substance abuse, Title IX, mental health resources, and other areas pertinent to student well-being/success. Successful candidate will have primary office located on the Columbus, NE campus. This position will travel to other locations as necessary.
