Peer support specialists are individuals who are living successfully with a mental illness and are in a position where they are able to advocate, support, and share life experiences to other individuals to promote hope and recovery.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WOULD:
· Provide psycho-education classes and support groups.
· Safely provide transportation to and from Day Services on a regular basis.
· Work effectively within the Day Services as an active team member with positive and supportive teamwork.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma and expected to complete DHHS Peer Support Certification within 6 months of hire date.
· Personal experience with recovery and willing to share recovery specialist with others.
· Must have good driving record, valid Nebraska driver’s license, and/or required level of personal auto insurance.
