Family Coaches play a central role in student and caregiver success for increasing academic achievement, school connectedness and family cohesion. Through implementation of program components (Check & Connect, Strengthening Families Program), students and caregivers will experience improved communication, prevention of school drop-out or failure, improved homework completion and school success. The Family Coach will also serve as an advocate and guide for the student and caregivers, a liaison between the home and school, and a resource for educators and school professionals as an expert in working with students and families at-risk for system involvement.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in psychology, social work, education, human services, or a related field is required.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required

Experience:

  • Two or more years of work experience with children, families, schools, and the child welfare system is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Provision, management, implementation or other exposure to Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Provision of services that were: home-based and/or with marginalized populations.
