Counsel clients individually or in family or group sessions, to assist in overcoming and managing mental health conditions and/or behavioral problems.
Complete pretreatment assessments/intake interviews to arrive at diagnostic impressions, needed treatment services, and coordination of care, in conjunction with assigned supervising practitioner as required by licensure/insurance.
Develop, review, and modify client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories.
Participate in case conferences and/or staff meetings.
Complete discharge summaries and discharge planning with clients to facilitate needed care or reporting to referral sources.
Attend training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.
Make referrals to levels of treatment outside of the agency, including short-term residential treatment for substance abuse, intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous, Vocational Rehabilitation, etc.
Teach didactic classes on an as-needed basis.
Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients/family members.

Job Requirements
A master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field.
Licensed as a provisional mental health professional or licensed mental health professional as defined by the state of Nebraska.
Ability to clear all background checks: Child & Adult Abuse/Neglect Registry, State and Local Criminal Records Checks, Sex Offender Registry, Drug Screening and have a clean driving record. A criminal history does not automatically exclude you from employment with Good Life Counseling & Support, however, failure to disclose will.
