Full time Licensed Mental Health Professional

Job Description

Kindred Psychology is hiring a full-time Supervising Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

The Supervising LICSW must have experience and/or interest in providing supervision to graduate-level practicum students and provisionally-licensed clinical social workers working toward independent licensure. Social workers with expertise in eating disorders, substance use, trauma, neurodiversity, mood disorders and social anxiety are particularly well-suited for this opportunity.

The Supervising LICSW will provide culturally responsive, affirming therapy services for LGBTQ+ populations. This position includes conducting (or learning to conduct) pre-hormone and pre-surgical readiness assessments, program development and expansion, and providing community education/trainings. The hours will be designated as 25% supervision and 75% clinical.

Employment at Kindred Psychology requires demonstrated expertise and enthusiasm for working with LGBTQ+ clients using an inclusive and affirming approach. We acknowledge the under-representation of diversity among mental health providers and are committed to addressing this disparity by actively seeking applications from diverse LICSWs. We appreciate that diversity is comprised of personal experiences, values, and worldviews that intersect with differences of culture and circumstance. Such differences include race, ethnicity, tribal affiliation, sex, gender and gender identity, age, religion, language, abilities/disabilities, sexual orientation, affective expression and relationship structure, and socioeconomic status, among other features.

Applicants must have:

  • A Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work.
  • Valid license or eligibility to be licensed as LICSW in Nebraska. Relocation assistance is available.

  • Strong knowledge of and adherence to professional ethics and mental health laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with electronic documentation of medical records.
  • The ability to perform with a high degree of independence and a strong work ethic, openness to supervisory support, as well as the ability to balance self-motivation with self-care.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of social work students and provisionally licensed clinicians.
  • Willingness to serve as a mentor to other clinicians and community members.
  • Providing trauma-responsive and affirming counseling services to LGBTQ+ populations in an inclusive and affirming manner, with cultural humility and care.
