Independently Contracted Mental Health Therapist (LIMHP, LMHP, PLMHP)

Position Overview

As an Independent Contractor Mental Health Therapist at Lumos Mental Health Services, you will provide high-quality mental health counseling services to a diverse client population. You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and work either full-time or part-time, with the option to provide services in-person or via telehealth. Our team will support you with necessary resources, clinical supervision (as required), and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to clients, either in-person or through telehealth.
• Conduct thorough assessments, create individualized treatment plans, and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
• Collaborate with clients to establish goals and monitor progress throughout the course of therapy.
• Participate in clinical supervision (if required) and seek out continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional guidelines as outlined by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and professional licensing boards.
• Maintain client confidentiality and ensure all client records are securely stored and managed.

Qualifications

• Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP): Must hold an active LIMHP license in the state of Nebraska.
• Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP): Must hold an active LMHP license in the state of Nebraska.
• Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP): Must hold an active PLMHP license in the state of Nebraska and be under the supervision of a qualified licensed professional.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently while adhering to professional and ethical standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain a consistent client caseload.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills. We will train on our system, SimplePractice.
