POSITION: Educational Support and Disability Services Coordinator
SALARY: Salary low to mid $50’s DOQ. Excellent benefit package. Application review begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities: The Educational Support and Disability Services Coordinator works with faculty, staff, students, and appropriate outside agencies to identify, employ, and evaluate appropriate resources and methods to assist students in addressing obstacles to academic success for students both in and outside of the classroom. Coordinates all services ensuring compliance with ADA and provides leadership and consultation in promoting access and equity for persons with disabilities. Coordinates activities surrounding the tutoring of students; including hiring, coaching, and monitoring tutors. Develop and implement assessment of tutoring and disability support services. Provides probationary advising services. Will also be responsible for coordinating tutorial and disability accommodation services. This position also provides test-proctoring and student advising services and will serve on the campus Welcome Week Committee which helps support new student arrival, programming, and connections to campus. This position is exempt regarding FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in counseling or education and experience working with tutorial and/or disability service programs are strongly preferred. A working knowledge of ADA compliance laws, best practices in higher education learning assistance programming, and theory associated with intrusive academic advising also strongly preferred. Familiarity with tutorial strategies, ability to provide programmatic leadership, and proficiency in verbal and written communication are preferred. Should have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively within a team environment and a commitment to student success as well as ability to maintain confidentiality.
